Question:

Can someone else go into my bank and cancel a direct debit with all my details?

i havent a lot of time on my hands with working 12hour days so i was wondering if i can get my husband to go into my bank with my details and cancel a direct debit? thanks.

Answer:

You can write a letter to the bank asking them to cancel the direct debit. They can't do anything without YOUR signature. Your husband can bring in the letter. Or schedule a visit to the bank yourself during your lunch hour.
no it is not possible
Hmm didn't trust hubby to be on the bank account. If he is a course he can do it if not, pull up a quick power of attorney letter on line, fill out the form, an give him LIMITED power-of-attorney for this one task. Also most banks have 800 numbers and are open long after the branches close they may do it for you over the phone.
