Well I was going to a party at a friends house in Taft Projects (projects in Harlem) and the elevator wasn't working so me and my friends walked up the stair way to the12th floor then the police came running down from the 13th floor and stopped us and questioned us for no reason and asked us why we are taking the stairs.I told him that the elevator is broken then they ask for our ID's and wrote all of our information down.this has happened a few times where police officers take my ID info.can they do this?
