So basically the smell is more than my parents can take and we've been painting and cleaning everything to get rid of the smell (doesn't bother me though aha) so until we can get a rabbit hutch, my ferret has to sleep in her cage outside in the shed. Now, I check on her often and whenever I pick her up, she starts shaking - but she seems to be almost fine otherwiseBecause she's got LOADS of blankets that she snuggles under at night time - but she ONLY shakes when I first pick her upShe stops shaking when she snuggles down. But I've noticed for the past day or so her poo has been green and runnyHaven't been feeding her anything differentI've always given her the odd treat, a bit of cooked chicken or something, but nothing elseAlthough when she's in the house she does nick some of my dogs dry food.Is she stressed out by the change? She seems a little annoyed with me as well. Thanks!
Mmm, When it comes to cast iron washing it with soap is a no-noWhen i wash a cast iron using water and a paper towel is bestThe soap may have not been washed properly or the iron metals and such are meltingI would not eat it.
First of all, never use soap on a cast iron panSecond, you must season your panHere is an article with directions how to do it.
If you wash it really well you will need to season itIf it's brand hew it probably had a sticker in it when you purchased it? You are probably smelling the glue burning offClean it again and season it good and the smell should go away!
You're not supposed to wash a cast iron pan with soapIt's supposed to keep the seasoning from the oils you cook with, otherwise it will rustif you do wash it then you should coat it with a little bit of oil to begin the seasoning process againNext time just wipe it out with a paper towel.
Okay dont freak out sweetie, the shaking is normal, its just them regulating their body tempmy little girl does it but my male doesnt since he is a bit of a fatty lolFerrets are INDOOR animals they can and will DIE from exposure, if the smell is bad i suggest crystal cat litter (changed daily) a plug in deoderizer nearby the cage, some ferret deoderizer to spray on them for body odour (has to be specialized ferret spray or will dry their skin and make it worse), and a metal cage so nothing is absorbedalso open a window when possible to let some air flow inI did this and basically eliminated the smellIf your ferret is a bub then it will have a stronger odourget her desexed asap if she is not already and the smell pretty much disappears and they just have a hint of a musk about themThe females are usually pretty clean and lovely, my male is the smelly one and i still manage to keep them inside with minimal issuesFerrets can also spray as they come from the skunk familyIts nothing like a skunk, it last about half an hour and goes away but it really does stinkmine have only ever done this a few times at babies (under a year old) when they get over excited or grumpyif they ever get attacked by another animal is a defence mechanism and can save their lifeAs for runny poo i dont know what you are feeding her but chances are its too high in fibreI feed mine high quality DRY Kitten food(has to be kitten food since its easily digested and it needs to contain taurine) the vets actually reccoment this as its best for their teeth, i give raw chicken necks as an occasional treatthey need to have this and water avaliable at all timesthey have high metabolisms and if food and water arent ALWAYS avaliable they can dieHope this helps and feel free to contact me if you have more questions.
