Hi I am a teenage male and I was just wondering lately if you can get HIV or STDs from a pin. When I was younger like 8 or 9, I went into the fitting room and saw a pin in the room. Knowing that there's usually pins there on the floor(like all fitting rooms), I picked one up and started poking it on my fingers and tearing my skin, though I do not recall bleeding. As bad as it seems and I very scared that I have contracted something because they say you can HIV and STDs from needles. Please help me because I am very scared. Thanks!
Typically, no. But there could be mold, leaking refrigerant, and any of several other airborne contaminants and bacteria up to and incuding Legionaire's Disease that could cause such symptoms. Check the condensate pan, filter and ductwork, and perhaps run a test if nothing is visible or obvious. The exception would be if you had a fuel-fired combined package unit that was, for some reason, calling for heat. That and a cracked heat-exchanger could release CO into the air - but I expect not if this is cooling-only. For general peace-of-mind, I strongly suggest anyone with forced-air fuel-fired heating to install a CO detector much as one would install a smoke detector.
Carbon monoxide is a by-product of poorly burnt gas. Saying this, The only gas associated with air conditioning would be with a central, or package unit that has a pilot lite that is lit all the time.(Older units) But for any poison to get into the house the furnace box would have to have a crack in it.Hope this helps
Lyndon Johnson wanted to spend money on his great society right away. So he moved the SS funds to the general account.
Read the instruction booklet, when drilling hold it and work the trigger with your left hand. When using it in reverse use your right hand. As strange as this seems it will save a torn rotator cuff if the drill gets bound up. Get a piece of scrap wood to practice on for several dozen holes until you get comfortable using the tool. Hold the drill just tight enough to control it.
