Probably not worth getting it fixed i think it's well and truly broken have the exact same issue in my Sony hi-fi i no longer have any tapes due to a previous hi-fi midi system chewing them up and breaking them so it doesn't bother me that the tape deck doesn't work
Blue would be best for a sunny day where all you need is a tint so your not squinting. Orange is for when you have a low contrast on a lower light day
