trying to iron custom patches onto the back of silk ties. is that possible w/o ruining the tie?

If your iron has a setting that says silk then you can. Place the tie face down on the ironing board, place the patch over that, cover with a clean white piece of material and then iron on top of the white material. If your iron doesn't have a setting for silk, use the setting that says delicate. Hope this helped you out.
