Question:

Can you mirror polish a copper p.c.b?

If i have a Nice big flat square of p.c.b that is just a solid sheet of p.c.b. Can i polish it to a mirror shine? What would i use and how thick is a normal sheet of copper on a p.c.b board?

Answer:

Technically yes. If you are not adding anything to the copper, you'll need to polish it up with some fine sand paper first (to get rid of any noticable scratches), then some very fine abrasive to polish it down, and then some polishing liquid or metal polish to bring out the shine. It is a laborious process though. If you want to have a chrome effect, you'll need to tin plate or chrome plate the copper first before polishing it up, but make sure you remove the noticable scratches before plating as too much polishing will remove the plating. Why don't you just buy a polished piece of material?
