Me and my friend installed a 64-bit OS on his 32-bit machinery that's bought in 2004 it's a athlon xp 2.8GHZ and 2.0GB ram and it works preety fine execpt that it's very slow at times and it's very incompatable. Can we actually do that becasue when we were installing it it just warned us that oyur processor is not 64-bit capable do still want to procced we clicked yes and it worked fine. honestly this is not a lie I am telling the truth.
It is possible, but why would you do it? They give you different Processer Architectures for a reason
True my a$$.It is not possible no matter what.
I don't think the OS is running in 64-bit mode. Most 64bit OSes include 32bit compatible versions of files for the situation you describe above.
If you knew just the basics about computers you would know this is impossible. When you get the error message that the CPU don't support this version of OS there is no option to proceed, nothing you can do than restart or shut down. Your friend drew 64bit on a regular CD and you bought it. Anyway what is the question now?
What you have found out is accurate. Your running and OS that is capable of using 64 bit hardware but is now only being reduced to 32 bit. Some software you are now running will be expecting 64 bit ability but be slowed down by the hardware. The 32 bit OS would not try to address the hardware in the same way. It's as if you put a powerful engine in a car with a tiny transmission. It won't go any faster if the gears don't want to do it. When the computer seems slow it's probably trying to do things which are redundant and unnecessary because you have a 32 bit machine.
