Question:

Can you shrink your jeans of you iron them?

I have jeans that I do not want to shrink, so I am hang-drying them rather than tumble-drying them. Once they are dry, can I iron them, or will the heat cause them to shrink?

Answer:

You can totally iron them, the main shrinkage goes on during the wash and the tumble drying only. If anything, you will stretch the fibers out rather than jamming them together when you iron.
Yes you can iron them and no the heat from the iron will not cause the jeans to shrink. Only washing clothes in hot water can decrease clothes size.
Ironing will not shrink your jeans. If you are extremely afraid, just iron them on lower heat or put a cloth or rag over your jeans while you iron them out.
