Question:

Can you Solder Copper and Aluminum?

Using regular solder with flux, I want to solder some copper wire to a piece of copper and a piece of aluminum. Will soldering copper wire to copper sheet metal or copper wire to aluminum sheet metal work?

Answer:

Solder Copper To Aluminum
It is a royal pain to try and solder aluminum and to solder the two together would not generally last due to the corrosion form the dielectric activity in the two dissimilar metals. I would suggest that you drill and tap the alumium and use a small screw and or rivet for the connection and apply dielectric grease to it to seal out air to maintain a good connection
