I would say a chevrolet. SUV 4 wheeldrive with the best tires you can afford if you are considering a truck, which is for me, the vehicle of choice for cold wintry places. For an all around 4wd Id choose an export. subaru , then Honda, Toyota and |Nissan cars and vans I have seen a few Hummers but |I hear they guzzle fuel like you have deep pockets. Mud and snow tires will handle the snow and if need be, grab chains, have studded winter tires or a snow mobile back up for rescue missions.. Pack your own snow backhoe, snow plow, blower shovel etc. Dont worry you will adapt fast enough when it comes to weather. I have an automechanic friend who swears by the jeep vehicles for himself, he admires the motor (drive chain) yet he insists on only a subaru or suzuki for his family for economy and reliability
