Question:

Cant' install my 3870x2 My 8 pin connector does't fit?

I have a six and an eight pin connector, the card apparently requires both. But my 8 pin seems to be different than the one on board. Is there and adapter? Or another way around?

Answer:

Are you sure you're not using the 8-pin cpu power that normally goes to the motherboard? The only adapters I know about would be the molex (4-pin) to PCI-E adapter, which should've come with your video card.

There should be a nice dual molex to 8-pin adapter out there somewheremaybe in the box the GPU came in? Some other GPUs allow for using 2 4-pin connectors. You should check the FAQ section of the site of the GPU maker. You know, I don't mean to be flip, but this is the sort of thing you research BEFORE you buy the card! TUAMINN: Thanks for posting the same thing I did 12 minutes after I did.
