Question:

Car Alarm Anti-theft system questions.?

What are some good price car alarm(anti-theft) systems out there?I am looking for not too expensive($100-$300) but still trustworthy system. I don't know anything about alarms, btw. Do they drain batteries? Do the wiring require opening up the car inside out??Are there like a silent alarm systems? where it only lets the key holders know if the car is alarming? Thanks in advance.

Answer:

The first alarm is generally a predesignated response. This will vary based on what the fire is thought to be and it will vary from dept to dept but around here, this is how it would go. A first alarm would consist of 3 engines, 1 ladder and a battlion chief. If it was dispatched as a working first alarm fire it would be 4 engines, a ladder, and 1-2 chiefs. If the arriving companies determined that they did not have enough resources then a second alarm would be requested. This would generally be 2-3 more engines, a ladder and another chief. This would continue through the 3rd, 4th etc. There are other companies that could also be included at some point on the alarms, for example an ambulance would go to standyby as well as rehab through the Red Cross or local Rescue Squad. Ranking fire officials would also be alerted and may or may not respond depending on the situation. A public information officer would also be included to deal with the press and any public safety issues that might need to be broadcast. A couple of things to keep in mind on multiple alarm fires are that at some point it becomes an issue of manpower and not fire trucks so if you see a lot of parked fire trucks near a major fire, the crews are rotating and the first arriving apparatus are the ones being used to fight the fire. Also companies will be moved around to cover empty stations for other calls that will come in during the mult alarm fire. A brush fire is a fire that involves woods, or grass or forrest. These can be spread out and require multiple alarms to fight. Generally these will be fought by brush trucks which are designed to get in the woods. These usually require tankers since water sources may not be nearby. Hope this helps. In answer to would a house burn down at five alarms, the answer would be yes. Most houses are 1-2 alarms, commercial structures can go higher. 5 alarms and up are rare and are something you would see on the news.
I can think of at least a couple of places where that idea would pretty much invariably lead to multiple homicides.
