Today my car alarm stopped working. My remote unlocks and pops my trunk still so its not the battery. It just wont lock or turn on the alarm. Is it possible that someone could disconnect something so i cannot turn the alarm on so they can come steal it later? Does anyone know what i should do?
I agree with both of the answers above.
your car alarm only has one brain (computer) so for the locks to unlock and pop the trunk tells me that the brain still has power and is receiving signal. you have one of 2 problems. 1 your remote is going bad and the button to lock and arm has failed . try a second remote. 2 your brain has taken a dump and only partial functionality. this will need to be replaced. hope that helps
Take it to a alarm shop. Most car audio places can fix this. You may need a new alarm. It is possible fro some one to do that but unlikely that if they had access to unplug it why didn't they just take it then? also they would have to know the wiring very well.
