Question:

Car jumps into gear with high idle?

Hello I own a 69 vw beetle automatic stick shift and when my car is in neutral the idle is really high but when I put it in gear it kinda jumps but when I put it in reverse the neck of the car lifts up and hops into gear Is my idle to high for the gears?

Answer:

if you mean a tri-axle they have 3 axles because they have to haul heavy stuff. trucks like road maintence and trucks that hauls blacktop have 3 axles.
My car kinda jumped to gear and it was my front and back motor mount. Have someone put the hand brake on and then put it into drive or reverse and accelerate and see if the engine moves side to side or up and down.

Bummer deal! Your idle may be way to high - and the car will jump as it suddenly moves the car. And your second problem may be a bad motor mount or two - letting your motor flop around. A mechanic can quickly check for both problems and advise you on what is not right, and the fix. Hope this helps.

the axle is the thing that your wheels hook onto and the inside of it spins, and multiple axles distribute weight better so you can haul more weight, that's why semi's have so many axles

examine for engine codes first, im no longer confident about the jerking, yet i imagine you want to ascertain your throttle cable, throttle body valve, sounds like some thing in the throttle is sticking, because on a classic automobile once you rev it to 2000 rpm, and drop it in force, its gonna hop into the equipment i dont imagine its a transmission difficulty. examine your throttle, because some thing is sticking. your cable or your throttle body valve is stuck open
