Question:

carbon dioxide increasing the atmospheric temperature?

Why does high concentration of CO? (carbon dioxide) increase the temperature of the atmosphere?

Answer:

2 mins in the microwave sweet as or 10-15 on a medium oven or cold chops rock
I reheat it in my microwave and it's just as good as when first cooked.
The CO2 doesn't increase the temperature by itself, it acts like a blanket by trapping heat already on Earth (just like a blanket by itself is not warm)Radiation from the Sun passes thru the atmosphere without a problem, but when it hits the Earth the radiation changes, and when it changes it can now be blocked by CO2, so it is trapped between the Earth's surface and the atmosphereSo an increase in atmospheric CO2 means less heat radiation back into space, and more heat on Earth.
