This is about the time of year;season for birds to lose some of their primary feathers. My parrot is losing some too. But if your small parrot is losing a lot, you want to make sure that she is not plucking them out, due to stress or boredom. Be sure not to pull them out if they appear loose. Let them fall out naturally. They have blood at the end of the feathers, so you want to be careful not to pull them out abruptly. Try buying a feather Spray product at the bird supply store that you can spray a light mist on your parrot to cut down on the molting. Do this on a warm day, so the feathers have a chance to dry. And don't spray into the parrot's face. Shield the face and hold the bottle about 6 to 10 inches from the parrot when spraying. Birds love to be sprayed. They will often spread their wings in enjoyment!
