Is there a way to effectively clean my carpet without buying any special equipment? I live in an apartment building and the carpet here is very dense. Is there a way to get rid of spots and things stuck to the floor? I wouldn't want to spend more than twenty dollars on this. Can anyone help?

Okay, I had this exact dilemma a few years ago. Buy a big jug of windex window cleaner, even off brand is fine. Take a regular sponge mop and spray the floor with windex and scrub like crazy with the mop. Then when its completely dry vacuum. Simple as that!
