give me pricing on 3 bedrooms house of carpet
It depends on the type of carpet and the square footage of the house. The cheapest I have seen at Lowes was $1.09 per square foot but went as high as 4.00 per square foot. If you need a new pad they are about .50 per square foot for a basic pad. To calculate square footage multiply each rooms width by length and add them together. If you have a professional measure they will add 10% to the total to calculate for mistakes. Don't forget you may also need to pay for installation.
It depends on the carpet you choose as well as the size of the rooms. Wool vs. nylon. Pile vs. berber vs frieze. The type of carpet you choose will depend on what type pad you need, which of course is another variable in the cost. Carpet comes in a standard 12' width. If you have a room that has a dimension wider than 12', you may have to seam it (depending on how it is is run in the other rooms if all rooms connect) or go with a special order 15' width carpet. My mom recently carpeted one bedroom and that was about $1000. A lot of times you have to buy a whole roll of carpet even if you don't need that much. Because of that, it is at times almost as cheap to do the whole house than to do just a few rooms.
Prices vary a lot because of the different qualities of carpet , but you can figure around 3 dollars a s/f installed with basic pad. This won t include ant rip out or disposal of the old. Size of the rooms will effect the pricing since carpet comes in 12 and 15' rolls ( for the most part) and a 10x10 room will require the purchase of the same amount of carpet as a 10x12 room. Bigger rooms will require seaming and extra carpet. No professional will add 10% for scrap. A few inches is common practice for out of square rooms but 10% is a rip off. And you never have to buy a whole roll . You buy only the lineal foot of carpet thats needed. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
