what are the dimentions of either a round cermaic ring or a 6 sided ceramic ring.more importantly how much does one of them weigh.i want to know this because im buying them on ebay and am tring to figure out how much i need. they only list it as (for example) 250 grams or 500 grams, but i have no idea how much that is or how much i need. i am filling penguin bio-wheel 330
If they are Tap ceramics, they are tiny, you get 2 small bags in a tub and are an absolute rip off. ( you haven't given us the name of the brand your looking at so its hard to be precise on what sizes and weights are.) I gather you are filling the DIY baskets that come with the filter ( the ones that say add your media of your choice). For the amount you need i would go with bio balls, there alot cheaper have a massive surface area for the bacteria to grow and you will only really need one bag. ( check on the bag weight as media is often sold in litres).
All i can declare is: its probable not a great thought to place it suitable on surprising. It turns into extra probable for it to come lower back up. and then the technique of taking over a layer of laminate and a layer of ceramic tile could be that lots tougher whilst it got here approximately. i think of the only thank you to make that artwork with out taking over the ceramic tile is to make an air tight seal between the two. i could not provide you any strategies on a thank you to try this nonetheless.
