To find the mass percent of dolomite [CaMg(CO3)2] in a soil sample, a geochemist titrates 11.10 g of soil with 30.70 mL of 0.2516 M HCl. What is the mass percent of dolomite in the soil?
I have to disagree with the first answer - if the disc / rotor is not too out of true it can be machined back in a lathe. However you were sold a dud so yeah take it back get a better one.
Boy you got some great answers here. It does depend on how bad it is out of shape. a very slightly warped rotor may be straightened with pressure, or even shimmed so it runs straight.
The stock answer is NO because it could potentially weaken the metal by bending it back into shape. Let alone the marks the tools to straighten it with might leave. If you chose to heat it, you run into different problems. Take it back to the salvage yard you bought it at and exchange it for a decent one.
Calculate the moles of HCl, then convert to moles of CO???. From that calculate the moles of dolomite and change to grams. Divide that by 11.10 g of sample and convert to %
