Answer:

As a general rule, if it's polyester use a little vinegar to help set the color and if it's cotton use some table salt. These are the basic chemicals that's used when textile plants dye fabrics. Probably a 1/4 cup should be plenty.
put flux on both parts put them together, heat the valve part [ all around] touch the solder to the pipe [next to the valve ] , when it starts to melt remove the flame feed the solder around the pipe till it stops taking it
Get some emery cloth or sand paper and clean off the old solderthen you'll be able to slip the pieces together. Make sure there is no moisture at all in any of the pipes near the point you are sweating the pieces together.otherwise the steam will force out the solder and you will have a leak. Flux will help the solder flow onto pipe.
First of when you get it dyed, dont wash it for 24 hours. it lets the dye set longer. Then try to wash it every other day. It might seem gross but washing your hair every day strips it from the natural oils and vitamins it needs to be healthy. Healthy hair holds dye better. When you do wash wash with a color safe shampoo. And always condition daily
Most of this work could be done with flanged fittings Buy a flangeing tool. And brass fittings. Much easy er to work with, and remove at some time in the future.
