I bought a new throttle body spacer for my 2003 silverado 4.8l v8. It‘s an Air Aid spacer. What would be a good intake kit? I‘m looking at Volant and KN right now.
If your too lazy to go on the chevy forums and get some answers, you can never go wrong with a KN.
There are some elements to think about the following. at the starting up, its a spotlight with 85k miles you're talking about. inspite of the inventory intake with that many miles, the motor develop into guaranteed to quickly run its route it form of feels. the different ingredient to think about is that it wasn't the intake which could have led on your grief, although the filter out you used inline with it. If it is a cheap aftermarket filter out like you're saying, then yeah i'd anticipate issues no longer to bypass so properly after a lot time. next time you wanna do something like that, its surprising to do somewhat analyze and locate out whats counsel to bypass.
LOL, first off that spacer is a joke. Doesnt do anything. Those cold air intakes are also a joke dont do anything. If you stock air cleaner asy is in good shape has no holes, it is the best Cold Air Kit on the market. If you install those cheap kits that the air filter just sits in the engine compartment exposed to the air inside the engine compartment, not only did you just waste your money but you bought a kit that just did the complete opposite what a Cold Air Kit suppose to actually do. A Cold Air Kit is SUPPOSE TO BRING IN COOLER AIR FROM OUTSIDE THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT!!!!!!!!!!! IT is stupid to install a kit that is pulling in engine temperature air. You are defeating the purpose of having a cold air kit. Even if you have one that pulls in outside air, that was what the factory air cleaner system was already doing, I laugh at people who spend money on spacers Cold Air Kits, there is no increase in HP that you will even noticed. And if any one tells me they do feel the power is lying it is all in their head. Like when we get certain customers in saying things about wind noise or vibration or something else is wrong with a car, most are happy with the fix that we did when we tell them we did this to it to be honest, we didnt touch a dang thing. They heard that we did something and so in their mind, they believed the issue was gone so if someone tells you that you will feel the increase in HP, its in your mind, you wont feel 5HP or less ever. Heck, changing fuel brands will give you increase in HP if you think it will in your mind.
