Question:

CHRISTIANS: If Hell really is as bad as you say it is, why arent you throwing yourselves at unbelievers feet?

And literally begging and pleading us to be Salvated?I mean, if I actually saw someone burning in fire in real life, I would probably throw a fire blanket on them or toss them into a pool of water!I wouldn‘t actually stand there and be like, Use ‘stop, drop, and roll‘! But if you don‘t, then I hope you gain the wisdom SOMEDAY!So if Hell really is as bad as you think it is, why aren‘t you treating it like some sort of impending emergency? Why just settle for verbal evangelism?

Answer:

Perhaps most christians do not believe in hell LITERALLY. And by that I suggest the word SCIENTIFICALLY. You see, religion is not meant to be backed by science! The whole idea is that it is a meaningful metaphor (that doesn't mean fictional or imaginary!) but a metaphor nonetheless that is meant to serve as a way of life, a set of beliefs to live our lives by. The story's only purpose is to give the message. It is when it is misinterpreted and taken literally/scientifically that we have problems. Now even still, I don't know all the messages that religion gives, but I'm sure a lot of it is way out of date! I mean, life is about change. How could beliefs that are thousands of years old hold true in today's society? Anyways.I am too ignorant to go on a rant. But it is my belief that we should all seek the wisdom to realize our individual philosphies.
There are differing beliefs about whether there is a literal hell or not. Not all believers agree on this subject. One thing that they all pretty much agree on is that you will be separated from God forever. You don't have to be separated if you trust Christ. He really does love you and He died to save you and keep this from happening. Even if someone could drag you to try to get you saved, it is a decision you must make for yourself. Hope you do.
There are some who risk their own lives to reach others for the Lord. Sometimes it feels like being the Israeli Ambassador at a UN racism conference.172 Arab delegates and you Maybe that analogy is too graphic. The Words own testimony is that between natural witness.ie, creation.the testimony of the Word phets, apostles, and such. and finally the witness of the Life of Jesus Christ.every one of us has enough witness already. We ignore it at our eternal peril. In our own very imperfect way, we as Christians also appeal to your conscience.to be reconciled to God. From our perspective, the other side of the coin is.why must we witness, and plead, and testify.to people who really could care less, have no concept of spiritual need, and are going to miss heaven anyway ? God does not explain everything to us either. He just says it is our job to tell.(if we do not warn them, their blood.the responsibility for their lives.is on our heads).and His job is to sort things out in eternity. It is none of our business why they get saved, or don't. When it can literally mean getting your head lifted off your shoulders.it would be comforting to have some assurance of success.in winning others to faith. But all we have is a commission to into all the world.and make disciples.sorry if we get cavalier about it sometimes. Try walking in our shoes for a week, then ask again.
