Question:

Cinematography.?

If someone wants to do cinematography, what equipment, software, etcwould they need?

Answer:

In the strict sense of the term, a film cameraNothing digitalGenerally you would rent or lease it (with several different lenses and a matte box) for the duration of the projectArri is commonPanavision is anotherThe rental should include a couple of different steadying devices, tooregular hight tripod, shorty and if you can afford it a camera craneYou'll need a source for the film stock (that can be expensive)Someone who knows how to keep it from getting exposed to light when switching reelsAnd sending it out for processing and digitizing so it can be edited on a computerBest if you rent the fully equipped and staffed grip truck, tooThey will have lights, stands, dolly track stuff, communications gear, cables, powerThen there's the craft folksfeeding the crewmakeup, wardrobe, stunts, insurance, legal, script, storyboard, shot list, audio recording devices, mics, sound engineerIf you want to go digital, the Canon EOS 500 or 700, Blackmagic Design cinema cam, any of the RED or Silicon Imaging cameras, something from the Sony Cinealta or Panasonic Varicam lines will dobut other than the camera, the rest of the above still applies - including the various steadying devicesLater you can add the high end drones for aerial shots, and you may need a sound stage or a warehouse for green screen special effectsIdeally, there's custom editing apps running on workstations, but I know a few folks who have done shorts on a couple of Mac Pro towers using Final Cut or Windows based computers running Adobe PremiereThe computers and monitors were nowhere near entry level.
OH WHY!!!! Y did you use the good sheets?! sigh well all i can say is to try the Tide pen and if that doesnt work get another set and burn the old ones.
