Question:

Coating small styrofoam balls?

Hi all, For an experiement I'm doing I need a range of buoyant particles of different colours and diameters (all preferably less than 1cm), that won't stick together when they're placed in waterThe easiest and cheapest solution I can think of is styrofoam balls coated in some sort of paint or varnish to colour them and to stop them sticking togetherMy problem is, they have to be covered in something that won't be destroyed when the balls are dropped in water, and that won't eat away at the styrofoamI was thinking a varnish would be good, but colouring the balls would be difficultIs it possible to buy already coloured styrofoam balls (preferably in Australia)? Also, painting such small balls will be extremely difficultWhat would be the best way to go about it? Thanks )
