Question:

Cold air intake for my v6 11 mustang?

So I installed a air raid cold air intake for 2011 v6 mustang and I am wondering what does it do for my car other then make some nice sounds? Do I gain extra hp? if so how much?

Answer:

By itself you're not going to see much, with tune, you can see some gains, but probably not double digit gains in in HP. I'd like to address some points made by some other people Often the aftermarket intake install leaks I've never had one leak, the fit is about as good as the stock part if you buy a decent CAI or if it's an oiled filter, the MAF gets fouled. Really only happens when people who don't know what they are doing try to clean the filter and then grossly over oil. If you do it right, your MAF will be fine. Why do people install cold air intakes on their cars when all cars come from the factory with cold air intakes. Not all cars do, and often the factory intake has several design compromises. Most people don't want a noisy intake, so it's designed to be quiet, which isn't necessarily ideal for top performance. Also on most cars, it's built to a cost. If a manufacturer had a choice between a $50 intake gave the car a total of 200 HP and $300 intake that was good for an extra 3-5 HP, the $50 part is the one that will be put into production due to the economy of scale involved with the cost ($250 difference times 100k cars) There is a formula for hp if you are interested. to increase hp just step on the throttle. the formula is hp torque x rpm divide by 5252 and you have the hp That's true, but it's also absolutely irrelevant to the question being asked. I don't know why you would mention it.
It's really important to have good tires on your motorcycle. If you even think they need replacing, go ahead and replace them. Saving money is not worth risking your life over.
If it was a lot, we would ALL notice, how much more powerful car engines get in winter! Often the aftermarket intake install leaks, or if it's an oiled filter, the MAF gets fouled. If the idle gets rough and it hesitates when you hit the gas, clean it with MAF cleaner. (Keep the factory parts to increase your car's resale value)
check the ''fitting'' line next to the rim shud be the same space all the way round on both sides.

Then to top it off they want to know how much hp they have gained, I say 00.0 There is a formula for hp if you are interested. to increase hp just step on the throttle. the formula is hp torque x rpm divide by 5252 and you have the hp
