Hi have anyone used the cold air intake on a tC? I talked to the a salesperson at an auto parts supply store and he recommended the cold air intake. He said the K N air filter alone won‘t increase any horse power but the cold air intake one would inscrease up to 5% like around 8 hp and it cost around $200. Would 8 hp makes a difference? Anyone has any experience with the cold air intake? Thanks.
a Scion tC is a car with serious Asthma, it needs to breath and exhaule better. one part doesnt make a difference but a compbonation of parts help. intake on a tC we'll say will give 6hp for example, add aftermarket header, s-pipe, cat back exhaust and an engine pulley that intake is now making 8-10hp because all those parts play a role together. now add camshafts and valve's, valve springs, valve retainers/keepes, and valve guides, you are now achieving more hp from that intake, plus, on top of what the other modifications are making. it works with all parts. same thing with header, say it give 7hp with everthing else the power adds up. if ou were to get all those mods it would be best to get new spark plugs and then get a tune because a tune may squeez out another 2-5hp. whether you feel it or not horsepower is horsepower but anyone that has the view or goal of putting a turbocharger on their car, buying an intake is worthless because it gets replaced, same with headers, gets replaced in a turbo kit. but if you stick naturally aspirated then by all means go for it, do let anyone tell you otherwise. by the way KN is one of the best, i just dropped in a KN FILTER replacment ONLY and there is better throttle response than before and a slighty increase in power, 2-4hp if anything, but i just got it for the heck of it since its cheaper than always buying a regular filter over and over.
The motor is fine if the right side is working. As someone else said, there is sometimes a nut on the arm where it attaches to the linkages. Chances are though you have stripped out the wiper arm itself and the piece it attaches to, because they have tons of little teeth that lock the two together and the nut keeps the arm from trying to twist, and flatten the teeth. What I'd do is get a wiper arm puller, and inspect the teeth. If your wiper arm does have that nut, you'll have to take it off before removing the arm obviously. It may be under a small plastic cover on the arm. If the teeth don't look too bad, smack the arm back on where it should be and tighten the nut down.
The factory intake system is NOT the same is a CIA. The 'know-it-all' above me is talking out of his butt! To avoid any issues with the warranty and/or reliabilty, go with the TRD unit. Cowboy: Your argument is seriously flawed. If thats the case, why doesn't the auto industry just eliminate the aftermarket, and auto makers can just produce 600+ horsepower cars. Engineers at Toyota HAVE 'caught on to the fact that a metal tube will gain HP for pennies per car', thats why there's a TRD Cold Air Intake ya moron!
you have a problem in the transmission for the windshield wiper on one side it is usually under a metal grate on the front of the car behind the hood. You have to take the grate off and look over the transmission to see if something broke because of wear or if a nut came loose which may be as simple as retightening s nbolt
