CAI installs are simple 1-2 hour jobs, requiring minor skills with hand tools - well within the scope of your skills. D is right in the sense that a CAI won't produce any significant benefit on a relatively stock, automatic-equipped car. You can gain up to 6-8 hp, but that will be in the upper ranges of your rpm range; with maybe a 1-2 mpg improvement in gas mileage on a good CAI. It is a good addition to other mods. However, if you want to start honing your skills, give it a go!
save your money ur gonna need it for gas or speeding tickets cuz i know that ur just gonna be out there in the streets racing a much more high powered vehicle and get smoked.

Depending on how restrictive your stock intake is, anywere from 3-12 hp. But KN is a good brand and there filters last for the life of your car, they also claim hp gains upwards of 15hp for some cars.
