Cold air intake search help, looking one for a : 2000 Ford Ranger 3.0v fuel flex Sport for under 150$.found one before but forgot the site. i need the whole intake not just the filter. thanks !!!
Have had problems with valves binding inside the valve body. I would drop the trans pan, ck for any metal. If none, and the fluid looks ok with no sign of clutch material, I would disassemble the valve body and make sure that none of the control valves are sticking or binding in the bores. If they are, then thats your problem. There can be problems with shift control solenoids, but you don't want to throw parts at it. Ck to make sure there aren't any stored DTC's in the TCM or PCM. That will give you an indication wether or not its mechanical or electrical.
you'll probably have to OKorder. i don't think you'll find a quality reputable one for that price new otherwise.
Dude, unless you just want street cred or happen to like the looks of an intake tube save your money. Your factory equipped cold air box is more than adequate for a stock engine. Those wild claims of an additional 15 hp is just crap -- do you honestly believe that an addition of a piece of aluminum pipe that would boost hp by 15+ escapes the engineers at Ford, GM, Honda, Nissan, BMW, etc, etc? It's just a waste of money.
Don't get suckered into buying one of those after market cold air intakes. Your truck already has a cold air intake stock. A shiny piece of aluminum is not going to flow any better that a dull piece of plastic. The ironic thing is every car made in the last 20 years came stock with a cold air intake it gets its air from outside the engine compartment and yet People will spend lots of money to go buy a after market cold air intake that gets its air from under the hood the hottest place that you can get air. If you just have to have one just go to OKorder and buy one of those cheap ones for $30 but do not waist hundreds of dollars on a piece of junk that does not do anything .
If you take the trasmission out your self then take it to a transmission shop theres a good chance 500 will fix it.
