Question:

Cold air intake vw jetta?

I just bought a KandM cold air intake and after driving for about 30 mins my battery light came on. do they have a connections I drive a 2001 vw jetta 2.0

Answer:

Ur intake pipes shuldnt be touching your batery if they are, thats alot of heat on the battery
Jay doesn't know what he is talking about, the intake tube doesn't have heat and it can just make heat transfer to the battery. Most likely if you installed it correctly they always ask you to disconnect the negative battery cable, check the connections again and tighten them and clean any corrosion off with baking soda and water mix, also go to an autoparts store and make sure you get mass airflow sensor cleaner, sometimes a dirty maf sensor in a cold air intake can throw codes like that. Best of luck.
Take off that cold air intake. The way the fuel injection determines how much air is going into the engine is with the air mass sensor measuring heat loss. While it should be able to compensate for any difference in air temperature, a KM intake is not helping any. But the first thing to check when the battery light comes on, is the tension of the alternator belt. Then check alternator output with a $3 volt meter from a place like Harbor Freight. Should be 12.5 off, and over 13.5 when on and reved up. But not over 15,
