Cold air intake with ram air hood?

I have a ram air hood with airaid cold air intake not installed yet but I wondering if there is such thing as to much air around the filter it‘s on a 2012 ram ?

There's no such thing as too much haha :) But it's not likely to do anything for you. The factory air filter is not going to be the restriction on a stock engine. The cooler air isn't going to make much of a difference either. For example, let's assume you're at sea-level and the your intake temperature is around 115?F normally. Now assuming the cold air intake allows the intake temps to drop 15?F which is an EXTREMELY liberal estimate (realistically it will be closer to 3?F-5?F). With 115?F, each liter of air consumed is going to have a mass of about 1.105 grams and at 100?F each liter is going to have a mass of about 1.135 grams. There's a 2.7% difference in air mass. The horsepower gained is going to be 2.7% or less (2.7% being the case in a perfect world). With the more realistic drop in temperature of 5?F, the power gains are going to be .9% at most (again, .9% is the best case scenario). So while it is true that colder air is denser, and denser intake charges yield more power, a cold air intake isn't going to be able to reduce intake temperatures enough to make much of a difference.
