Ok i'm not one to go buy new games for retail price like 50-60 dollars. I like games for cheap prices like 5-10 dollars. thats why i use homebrew's configurable usb loader which alows me to rent games and download them directly onto a hard drive then play them without the cd in the drive. Ok now that you know what i want i need you people to tell me does the Ps3 or the Xbox do this. can i put a game into the console download it to a usb hard drive and take the game out and then play the game from the hard drive? Please tell me!

Dont know about the PS3, but the xbox provides a feature to install games from a retail DVD to your xbox hard drive (or an external hard drive). This isnt as good as it sounds, because to start the game, you still need to have the DVD in the drive. I imagine the PS3 is the same. If you're talking about a modded console, then I guess its pretty different, but thats how it works for retail devices
