when copper chloride is heated what happens that makes the mass lower. Are the molecules getting smaller?Please help!

Answer:

Copper Chloride absorbs moisture from the atmosphere which gives it it's unique color and extra mass. When it is heated, that moisture evaporates. And reduces the mass of the compound.
