Question:

Copper Hydroxide to Copper?

I'm trying to create a copper cycle of 3 steps which include Copper Hydroxide, Copper Sulfate, and Copper Nitrate. So far I have: Cu+4HNO3-->Cu(NO3)2+2N2O+2H2OCu(NO3)2+NaOH-->Cu(OH2)+NaNO3However I cannot think of something to react with Copper Hydroxide that will get me Copper.Help?

Answer:

You can get the copper, but it will undergo two reaction : First reaction : Cu(OH)2 (heat)--> CuO + H2O Second reaction : Take the copper oxide, and flow the dry hydrogen gas pass through it. CuO + H2 --> Cu + H2O There you go :) It seems that you have : Copper Hydroxide = Cu(NO3)2+NaOH-->Cu(OH2)+NaNO3 Copper Nitrate = Cu+4HNO3-->Cu(NO3)2+2N2O+2H2O But i dont see your copper sulphate. If you want, let me help you get copper sulphate. H2SO4 + Cu --> CuSO4 + H2 Luck for your chemistry :)
