I have a 1994 Camry LE V6 and its really loud cause there's a hole somewhere in my exhaust system, the noise is in the front end and i was wondering what it would cost to get it fix. Just want a rough idea of the cost.
Dont forget to check the gaskets on your manifold if they are burned out they make lod noises. Get about a 2ft of hose garden hose works great for this technique. run it across the side of the manifold wear it meats with the engine and you will hear air like coming out. Godd luck
I wouldn't pay more than a $300. Reason being is that you can get nice dual exhaust kits from summit racing or jegs for around that price that require no welding and you can install yourself. It will also get you a nice beefy sound. The kits run from the catalytic converter back. Might want to also ask if the holes can be welded. I had an exhaust in a 86 town car that holes all in it and the guy at the exhaust shop was nice enough to offer that as a solution rather than replacement. Got me through to next inspection.
If it is just a hole in the pipe it should be less than $100.00 if it is an exhaust manifold cracked or a bad cat. converter it could be lots more.
you dont really need to add anything to the fuel to increase lubricity.the cummins fuel pump uses the engine oil to help keep it lubricated. the military uses cummins engines in several of their vehicles, and these trucks are running on jp-8, a cheap grade of jet fuel which has virtually nil lubricity
