LOL, a q-jet will NOT get you 30 more horsepower over a carb, that's freaking funnyTo the posted, what brand intake? What are the rest of the cam specs? Is there any work done to the heads? You need to provide more info in order to give an educated answerIf all else fails you can add enough nitrous to the motor to blow up a small country(kidding).
the first thing to do is to switch carbsif you want mileage stick to the 650 other wise go with a 750 or better yet get a new or after market rebuilt q-jetdon't listen to people when they say a q-jet is junksure they can be a pain but gm/rochester hasn't built them in over 20 yrsi have personally run several carbs on small block chevys on dynos and i will tell you this a good q-jet will easily pull 25-30 hp more that a holly or edlebrock(sorry holley guys) you'll also get better mileage over a holleyif you haven't done it give that little mouse a good set of headers.
Look at more ignition advance.Buy a good distributor add set your timing with about 34 degrees total advance and vacuum and mechanical advance before 2000 rpm.
Alrighty budFirst if your not willing to replace many parts to get some power then you need some Long Tube Headers fairly cheap for a 350Second the 650 should be enough but I would go with a 750 Holley HP carbAlso replacing your stock rockers with Comps Pro Mag Roller Rockers will get you about 15-20 more horsepowerAnd if you really want to spend some money then get a Roller camUmm other then that, im not sure what your compression is, but a 75 shot of NoS will be alright with that setup.
