tomorrow i have to make a craft for 1st graders at churchthe subject is about complaining and to not complainany ideas for a craft and a fun game? thanks!
Juanita and J are rightAn inch of spray-on insulation foam, (and there are several types, one of which is a soy based, and therefore NOT petro-chemical goo) will do you more good than any amount of fiberglass will, and will out preform foamboard tooIf you completely fill your wall cavities with foam, your home will have several times the insulative value of your freezerNow THAT'S insulation!
Two inches of spray on Icylene is 90% efficient compared to R 19 which is 15%For a house I am building now the spray on costs $13,000 compared to $3600 for R19 for the same houseAbout 4 times as much for 6 times tthe savings in the long run.
The spray is the bestIt is also about 3 times more expensiveOn a new house, I would say you could recoup the money in energy savings.
If your referring the WET spray cellulose insulation then YES as it fill all the wall cavity, around the wires and it will give you a larger R factor, sound proofing and fire retardant then rolled insulation along with lower utility bills and increase the value of your homeI used to install spray on and I would demonstrate how well the insulation was by placing a hand full in my hand with a piece of copper setting on top of it and with a mapp gas torch melt the copper in my hand and the insulation would not allow the heat to my hands nor would it self contain a flame GREAT STUFF.
Make some sock puppets of people or animals that do a skit about not complainingIf you happen to already own puppets, you can bring those, too You can even make a puppet stage with some large cardboard boxes and bedsheetsBe creativeKids love puppet showsI used to volunteer and bring puppets to the public library and have them talk in funny voices and read books to kids when I was a teen Then, you could have everyone design their own sock puppetYou can either bring old socks, or buy a cheap bulk pack of socks at walmartYou can get buttons, felt, glitter glue, craft foam, fabric scraps, yarn for hair, stick-on googly eyes, pom poms, craft glue or anything else you can find to help design the puppetsCheck the craft section at Wal-mart (open 24 hours) or try your local craft storeYou could have an adult use a glue gun to help them make finishing touches, or they may be able to sew a few stitches If you don't have socks, and you are on a limited budget, you may be able to go to a local grocery store and buy small brown paper lunch bagsThey can use glue, crayons, markers, and brightly colored construction paper to create puppetsWe made paper bag puppets in elementary school Puppets are a great way to get ideas across to kids, and since they are used to watching TV, watching a puppet show with characters and dialogue will help them learn not to complainThen, they can practice teaching their new puppets to be nice and not complain.
