If the information is true, not much can be done. They would have to point explicitly to you that your actions were the MAIN causation of his being fired. The main cause was a probation and then a 10% reduction in force. Was he bumped in Seniority by your actions? Did he lose seniority by your actions? They can come after you on any legal ground they ant, but; to win they would still have to prove your action was a direct cause to his loss of a job.
