First off, I know nothing about cars. I wanted to have someone install an aftermarket stereo in my car, I have a 2002 Chevy Malibu. I bought a stereo and a kit, but the guy that is going to install my stereo said I needed a factory stereo connector. While trying to search for the part online, I came across a wiring harness. Are these two things the same thing? Please help!
Ussually after market stereos can not hook up to the already existing plug in your car, so you have to buy a plug that goes from the factory plug to your new stereo. Pretty much for me it was that the factory one had 10 wires, and my new one had 8 because it is different and the new one didnt have CD player.
