Question:

difference between short ram intake and cold air intake?

difference between short ram intake and cold air intake?

Answer:

Short ram intakes are throwbacks to the 1960s and 1970s when most engines sucked in hot air from the engine compartment. Any cold air intake, including the ones that are stock on every modern vehicle, is better for performance than a short ram. Aftermarket cold air intakes are relics of the same era, when stock intakes were lousy. Today stock intakes are at least as good as any aftermarket offerings and are better in most cases. Aftermarket short rams and CAIs are favored by people who want their car to sound louder without regard to actual performance
Well both have less restrictive filter and bigger tubing to let in air easier. Cold air has piping that leads to draw air outside the engine bay and short ram is a short pipe that sucks in air in the engine bay.
