i want to get a high quality graphics card im building my own laptop (yes i know its hard i have done it before) and i was wondering if all graphics cards work with a laptop with my last laptop i just found one from alienware for laptops
No- I'm not exactly sure which work with which, but you can easily ask someone at the store or someone on a hotline / website for more info on this.
LOL no. Laptops can't support desktop graphics cards. It is a terrible idea to build your own gaming laptop. You need graphics cards that are specifically designed for laptops (because of their smaller size). Also, heat will be an insanely big issue for you. For a gaming laptop, you are much better off buying one. Either build a gaming desktop and buy a cheap laptop for schoolwork, or just buy a gaming laptop.
It depends on what slot it goes into, if you have a PCI Express or PCI slot it would fit into then more than likely it would work. I have mixed and matched graphic cards and haven't had a problem, I put a NVIDIA GeForce graphics card into an emachines computer, intel chipset and it works flawlessly so just know what slot it goes into. I build my desktop from the ground up literally and I mixed and matched on it as well and it works GREAT!
