i was just wondering because i'm looking to see what career would be good for me.
No. Only a Pediatric Surgeon does the major surgery. In many cases serious surgeries (like heart valves and repairs in the stomach and intestines) are more often handels by specialist in Adult Medicine -- like a Heart Surgeon or Thoracic Specialist. The General Pediatrician does almost no surgery, just really minor procedures that are usually handled in his/her office in 10-15 minutes, like ingrown toenails or taking off warts.
