I'm about to install Windows 8 on my new laptop, and i'm wondering whether i'm going to need a windows loader (like i needed for windows 7) ?
Windows 8 as well as all previous versions of Windows are self booting using NT Loader. No external boot loader has ever been required for any version of Windows.
Like you were asking if you can use the OS without paying for it. Anyway, loaders don't work on Windows 8 anymore. WIndows 8 now uses a different kind of activation through Key Management Services or KMS.
All versions of Windows install straight onto the hard drive. They don't need loaders. The last version that needed a bootstrap loader was Windows 3.1 way back in the early 90s, which required MS-DOS to be installed first.
