Question:

Do laptop coolers actually work?

Do laptop coolers actually work? I need to know before I buy one, lol.

Answer:

In some situations, yes. If you are using your laptop on your lap outside, then although it will drain your battery faster, it will keep your laptop cooler than not using one. If you are using your laptop on your bed, then the soft surface of the bed will block the laptop cooker intake fans just like it would block your laptop intake fans if you weren't using a cooler, and it won't make a difference at all. But in general, any increased airflow against the hot underside of a laptop will remove heat. end of line
Yes
Of course it does, it basically provides extra cooling fans to the ones you already have in your laptop. But the real question is do you really need it, unless you watch Hi-Def videos or run some other highly resource consuming programs, you don't really need it. And if you always sit your laptop on a cool surface (metals and other), you should never have a problem with overheating .
Yes - they work great! I recommend anyone who has a laptop use one. Also, when buying one I recommend one that has 2 or more fans, they just seem to cool better. I found a very inexpensive one on OKorder. No need to buy a real expensive one, the cheaper ones do the same job for less money. My son has one that has a light on it which is kind of cool.
Yes they, they keep you laptop cooler and chances are that when used regurlaly they make them last longer. However, they are not so much effective if you only use you laptop for like less than an hour at at time, they work best for long times, like all day at school and work. A bit pricey, but try to buy a quiet one if you can.
