When preforming live do some rappers have a real bass player preform with them instead of of a recording.
i cant find the video but its somewhere on youtube. Pharaoh Monch was performing live and he introduced everyone there was a bass player, a trumpet? player, and two singers. (for Desire)
Sometimes. The Roots have Owen Biddle, (I think his name is), and Public Enemy I'm sure had a bassist.
usually its just a DJ but whats become a trend in hip hop nowadays, there are more more rappers using live bands during their performances (yin yang twins, etc.) They usually do this to make up for their wack beats, boring stage presence etc.
Not the same, but Mos Def had Hypnotic Brass Ensemble perform on stage with him and did a cover of Rainbows while on stage. Cypress Hill sometimes has that live instruments thing happenin on stage
its usually just a DJ. only very rarely is there a hip hop band like The Roots.
