I have blue walls with a gray blue carpet. That would make for ugly curtains. Do they really need to match?
I okorder has a great selection and great deals, including a deal of the day. They also sell needles and thread. Sew a pocket on one end and hem the other and there you go, custom drapes.
Go with a gold or natural beige. Or use blues complimentary color of orange if you really want to liven it up! You could also use a darker red with those colors. It depend upon your furniture and what style you are going for! Since I don't know all of the facts I would probably use the gold/tan/beige colors and then use color in pics, pillows, throws, accents, area rug, etc.Best wishes!
I wouldn't want them to match, but I would want them to coordinate. What other colors are in the room? Could you do a dark grey curtain, or a red or gold color? Maybe a chocolate brown? Pull another color from the room to anchor the whole look. Save the receipt and if they don't look good, take them back. You could also try looking in model homes, catalogs and decorator tv shows for ideas. Get friends and family to give you opinions as well. Good luck! :)
We now have blinds or verticals on all of our windows (well, and a bit of a fabric swag over my blinds). But, we used to have curtains/drapes on most of our windows. And no, the curtains did not match the carpet. The curtains were kind of a drab off-white or beige color. We went through several different carpeting colors in the house during the time we had curtains, so obviously color matching wasn't an issue! *chuckle* I say, go with what YOU think looks pleasing and pretty, even if interior designers or magazines tell you otherwise!
you dont have to match the carpet to the curtains, they should blend with the colors of the whole room, so as long as it matches or blends in good with the other colors of the room it light, light blue, white, off white, or even a creamy color or it can even match other objects in the room painting, flowers etc..........good luck
