Dodge Dakota Exhaust System?
Hate to interrupt the information to you yet you may not 'fix' some thing this is lacking. you may in simple terms replace the lacking factors. you will ought to function if this Dakota is a 2WD or a 4 wheelpersistent besides as which engine it has tucked under the hood for an incredibly fee on an exhaust device.
if were you id leave the cat and go with mufflers with shorter pipes on it, the shorter in length that you can make the pipes the louder and better it will sound, you can even go in front of the tires for the outlets on the pipes,id use thrush mufflers instead of a glass pack because those don't last long enough and when they burn out they pop back through the exhaust making the truck sound like its got a cheap exhaust system on it,and thrush mufflers are cheaper to buy than magnaflow ones are also,i got two on my dakota but it has av-8 in it and they sound real good and they don't pop back when you let off the gas either, the back pressure is what causes the popping back through the pipes, thrush mufflers wont do that, good luck.
The glass packs may not be enough for back pressure, but with out a cat your exhaust will have a loud crackle sound. I did this with my dakota and the only looks I got was from state troopers pulling me over for a loud exhaust. I would leave the cat if it work fine and do a dual exhaust with the flowmaster muffler. Brand new magnaflow mufflers sell from 40 to 80, depending on the series. Or leave the cat on and put a stright pipe in place of the muffler sounds pretty badass.
