does anyone have any complaints with their granite countertops? how about quartz, is that better?
well quartz is a mineral not a rock and it would never start dissolving in plain water it wasnt quartz because if the liquid in the tank caused quartz to dissolve the fish would be fried
Calcite is common, sometimes looks like quartz and is water-soluble. Put it under a black light and see if it glows. Calcite probably won't hurt the fish, but I would remove it anyway. Calcite is much softer than quartz.
ARe your fish dying. Sounds like a salt of some kind. Take it out and taste it. Quarts will not break down in water
