It will always survive as long as people like embroidery...it has already...for many, many years.
The level of surviving always depends on the initial intentions. Embroidery can be a hobby as well as serious business. If it's going to be business then as any business it will require a big starting investment to be successful. Otherwise, don't expect a lot for at least first 5 years. Oh, yes, strong marketing skills are also very useful :-)
